Downieville is a popular white water destination. With runs ranging from
levels 2 to 5, there is something for everyone. There are numerous
rafting companies in the area- reservations can be made at the front
desk.

C & R Guide Service offers guided fly-fishing excursions to the
North Fork Yuba River, Truckee River, and The Feather River Country
for wild rainbows, browns, and brook trout. For those of you who are
small stream and creek anglers, the area contains numerous "Secret
Spots" hosting unselective, but wary brooks, browns, and rainbows.
We also guide on the Lower Yuba for steelhead and shad.

Gold
Panning
One
of the most historical mining towns left today, Downieville offers many
possibilities for those with "the Fever." There are
museums, local mining tours, and rivers to pan, or ask the front desk
to make arrangements for a guided prospecting trip. Equipment
and instructions are supplied.
Golf
There are two 18-hole golf courses in the beautiful Graeagle area,
about 45 minutes' drive from the Inn.
Horseback
Riding
At
the nearby Lakes Basin Recreation Area, you can go on trail rides, wagon

We are located on the Downie River, 40 yards from the Yuba River,
within walking distance to some of the best swimming holes around.
The nearby Lakes Basin Recreation Area offers the shallow warm waters
of Sand Pond, a popular spot to take the little ones. Newly-installed
playground equipment can be enjoyed by all at the nearby park.
Your child will thrive at this summer camp in California's
